35 mm pipe clip STL with a screw tab on each side

A two-screw saddle clip for round tube that measures 35 mm outside. The STL is generated by software from the values below; at this size a millimetre either way decides whether the clip holds, so replace the 35 with your own caliper reading.

What to measure

Thirty-five millimetres turns up in three places. It is a standard outside diameter for metric copper tube, used on larger heating and water mains. It is a common diameter for the rigid wand tubes and hose cuffs of household and workshop vacuum cleaners. And it is roughly what plastic waste pipe sold as 32 mm measures on the outside: depending on the system, that pipe is about 34.5 to 36.5 mm, because its name is a nominal size and not a dimension. For that reason, do not trust the label. Measure the outside with a caliper, or wrap a strip of paper around the pipe, mark the overlap, and divide the length by 3.1416. A 110 mm strip means a 35 mm pipe.

Clearance, wall and material

The clearance is 0.3 mm, for a bore of 35.3 mm. The wall is 3 mm and the opening 105 degrees, which leaves a gap of about 28 mm: the pipe needs a firm push with the heel of the hand to seat, and then stays put. Larger clips have longer arms and can carry a thicker wall than small ones, but stiffness rises quickly with thickness, so try 3 mm before going to 3.5. PETG is the better choice here. A 35 mm clip in PLA works on a cold pipe, but the long arms are under constant tension and PLA creeps; in a warm cupboard next to a cylinder it will loosen over a season.

Printing

Stand the clip on a C-shaped face so the tabs point out sideways across the bed. It covers about 77 by 34 mm and is 20 mm tall. No supports are needed. Four perimeters at 0.2 mm layers make the 3 mm wall solid apart from a hairline that gap fill closes, and they also make the 4 mm tabs solid around the screw holes, which is where the load goes. Leave the part on the bed until it is cool: a warm PETG clip lifted early can spring open by half a millimetre and keep that shape.

Fixing it

Each tab is 18 mm long and 4 mm thick with a 5 mm hole, for a 4.5 or 5 mm screw. Two screws matter at this size, because a full 35 mm pipe pushed into a one-tab clip twists it off the wall. Overall the clip is 77.3 mm wide, so check that both tabs land on something solid. Fit the clip, then seat the pipe; on a waste pipe keep the fall the pipe needs and let the clips follow it.

The pipe and cable clip needs a licence key: without one the generator shows the model locked, lists the values from this link and fills them in as soon as you unlock. The fitted drawer organiser bin is the free model and downloads with no key.
