Screwdriver rack STL for 8 screwdrivers, 208 mm long

A wall rack with eight 8 mm holes at 26 mm spacing. At 208 mm it is the longest rack of this layout that prints in one piece along the axis of a 220 mm bed. The STL is generated by software from the values below.

Why eight at 26 mm

Eight is the usual size of a household set: four slotted, four cross-head. Spacing sets the length of the rack, and length is limited by the printer, so this page works backwards from a 220 mm bed. Seven gaps of 26 mm plus a 13 mm margin at each end give 208 mm, which leaves 6 mm of bed on either side for the skirt. If your widest handle is 26 mm or more, the handles will touch at this spacing; widen it to 28 mm and drop to seven holes, or print the rack diagonally on the bed.

What to measure

Take two readings from the largest screwdriver of the set: the shaft diameter and the widest part of the handle. The hole has to pass the shaft and stop the handle. An 8 mm hole takes shafts up to about 7 mm with room to drop in at an angle, which covers common sizes up to a large cross-head driver. Then look at the smallest tool: if its handle is narrower than 8 mm where it meets the shaft, it will fall through, and it belongs in a rack with smaller holes.

Wall, shelf and material

The shelf is 5 mm thick and reaches 30 mm out from a 4 mm back wall that is 30 mm high, with the holes centred 15 mm from the wall. The two mounting holes are 4.5 mm, centred 13 mm from each end of the back wall, in the spaces outside the first and last tool. PETG or PLA both work. Keeping the shelf this short keeps the leverage on the corner low, but it is plastic and not load-rated: hang screwdrivers on it, not hammers.

Printing

Print the rack resting on its back wall, shelf pointing up from the bed. The footprint is then 208 by 30 mm and the part stands 34 mm tall, and the layers run through the corner between shelf and wall, which is where a rack printed flat would snap. The tool holes lie on their side in this position, and at 8 mm they are small enough to print without supports. Use four perimeters; the corner is stronger from perimeters than from infill.

The screwdriver rack needs a licence key: without one the generator shows the model locked, lists the values from this link and fills them in as soon as you unlock. The fitted drawer organiser bin is the free model and downloads with no key.
